This week we are heading into Memorial Day Weekend. Typically people use this weekend to kick off their Summer; however, this weekend is much more important than that. Do you know the reason we celebrate Memorial Day? Memorial Day is celebrated the last Monday in May to honor the men and women who have died while serving in our military. Each Memorial Day weekend many towns host parades to commemorate and some even place American Flags on the grave stones of veterans who have passed away. Thompson will be hosting their annual Memorial Day parade this year, but it will look a little different than usual. See the info below from the Thompson Memorial Post 1008 VFW. In order to prep for the parade, I challenge you to make a patriotic sign to show your support for our veteran's in the parade to thank them for our service and to thank those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
